Overview
We were commissioned to produce an ecological overview of the Averon River Catchment area, identify local biodiversity hotspots and rare species, areas for potential nature designation, and recommendations for bio-enhancement. To meet these objectives, we undertook a desk based survey examining existing biodiversity records and ecological studies in the area to identify biodiversity patterns; a consultation, interviewing key organizational and local community stakeholders about their wildlife observations and perspectives; and field visits to ground truth findings from desk study and interviews, and identify areas and measures for potential bio-enhancement.
